Default Anyone ever tune a stock ISF yet?

Hey everyone, like the title states, has anyone tuned a stock F yet? From what I can gather the only gains spoken of are on modded ISF's so far. Just wondering what an F could do if someone did tune the car bone stock.

And before anyone ask, no I do not have an ISF... Yet.

To my knowledge it hasn't been done, but there really isn't a point to do that. Lexus had done a lot more R&D than any tuner obviously and while you may squeeze out a little more power with a more aggressive tune there are better ways to gain more. If you plan to stay NA and have done I/H/E then I'd say go for it to optimize your cars setup.

RR-Racing if I remember has tuned a stock F back when the tune was first released Februaryish..........I think it was mentioned in the tune thread in the vendor section, but you would have to do some reading for sure to find exactly where is says this.

The only thing I've done with the tune was the Borla Exhaust, not sure if I gained anything, the car seems to be more responsive and pulls harder, but by how much, my butt dyno does not give accurate readouts. Once I take it out to the track and compare my previous times, maybe then I'll be able to tell.

Thanks for the replies guys. Just figured I'd ask since I haven't heard anyone really comment on that yet. But I guess it's just because most F owners (especially those that buy the tune) are most likely performance lovers and have at least bought an exhaust for their F.

That being said I figured there would still be some sort of benefit from the tune at least with the higher optional redline of 7400rpm.

The tweaked ecms available are optimized for cars without cats or with a pair of high flow aftermarket cats installed in place of the 4 oem cats.

Perhaps a custom tune could be created for those wishing to "tune a stock ISF".

The search function works marvelously on this forum. You may want to look here:

If your implying to check out the rr racing tune product announcement thread I already did. But all the people who asked the same question I did never really got an actual answer. It was basically avoided and forgotten as everyone else's questions were answered. But thanks for your input anyway. My fault for not mentioning why I had to create a thread to ask this.

Finding bona fide numbers comparing a stock ISF to a tuned ISF is like spotting a four leaf clover while riding a unicorn. It's sad but true. If there were any clear comparisons showing gains, I'd get it for sure. But (surprisingly to me) the actual people selling the tunes don't seem too interested in providing this...probably for a reason.

I don't know that they were able to resolve the torque converter unlocking at 6800, so the last couple hundred RPM were just converter slip anyway...useless spinning.

Hmm I didn't know that. I just figured there would have been some sort of benefit like the Is350 when it's tuned to the higher redline. Then again... 2 completely different cars..

The only exhaust mods that i have before the RR racing tune is custom dual exhaust, headers is stock. the significant power that the tune gave to the F is first and second gear looses grip when you floor the gas, traction control ON, it never happen to the F before the tuned, for me its a significant power gains because i have a 275 wide bridgestone RE 71R .

There are gains to be had with the tune, although there isnt much there. I will admit I do like the idea of the power packages. PPE headers, intake, and a tune., Now that will make a damn solid difference on how it pulls.
