Default New ISF owner - 2008 - trunk interior is really hot

Did a drive across town tonight typically going 35-45mph most of the way - about 30-40 minutes. sat in a drive thru for 5 minutes. Its about 89 tonight outside.

When I got home I removed some things from the trunk, and noticed it is really hot in there. The heat seems to be soaking in from the mufflers. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks!

I havent noticed it being extremely hot in mine, just warmish on hot days. Even if it does get a bit warm back there i can't see it causing much trouble, really isn't anything to get damaged by heat besides the small plastic trim pieces.

just concerned about restrictions in the exhaust/mufflers, or possibly its running rich and that is heating the exhaust up.

hoping some others can chime in on this. never owned a vehicle who's trunk interior got this warm.

Like I said I've experienced a little bit of this and am curious what other people have to say about it, I personally wouldn't worry about it much. There was a thread recently about the vents leading into the trunk being worn out quickly, you could check those out if its really an issue.

passenger side vent flap is not even there, and drivers side is flaking away.

will order some new ones, see if that helps. I would assume it would.

mine is extremely hot almost all the time in sunny soCal, but i removed all the mat, tools and tires to shed weight..that probably has something to do with it. It's interesting to hear about your concern for exhaust restriction, never thought about that

I haven't noticed. And there's been a lot of sub-normal temps. here lately, (& rain today).

TBH my last 3 cars with a trunk / boot were Mr2's, & you just took a warm booty for granted. Carried the cooler in the passenger compartment unless traveling 2 up.

Same here, especially if you have all the mats removed and after a 25 minute track session; pop open the trunk it radiates heat like a furnace.
