Could one of you legends list all parts needed to do the repair?

There should already be a walkthrough somewhere on here. I do remember reading about it and needing new injector clips because they usually break.

I have not had an repairs directly associated with this leak, but I did lose coolant "ever so slightly" since I bought my F in 2014. After I changed my plugs in May 2017, I noticed oil on them and had the dealership replace the tube seals (three days before my CPO warranty was up). I mentioned the coolant to them as well, and they told me they found no evidence of the VPL.

After this repair, which included the part #s below for reference, the coolant stayed completely level until today. Last month it was on FULL, today it was about an inch below full. I couldn't see evidence of the leak today, but I'm going to dig farther this week and after I've reread this entire thread for the 10th time. I will say that this is the first season I've driven the car in the cold since I've owned it, if that matters.

If you don't already watch it, I highly recommend the show "Air Disasters" ("Air Crash Investigation" carries a different name but is the same show) on Smithsonian. The level of detail they go into is fascinating & they're completely respectful to the deceased. Your comment reminded me of this incident.

Yeah I fixed it myself, I think I still spent like $150 in the correct sealant and gaskets needed but way better than paying the dealer price

Did you just remove the Intake Manifold and wiring to get to the area?

No there is more stuff that needs to be removed, like injector clips that most likely will break. I mostly used the manuals that where provided in this thread. but in the end just ended up getting the 2 day subscription to this https://techinfo.toyota.com . that helped out alot

Did you take off the supercharger before taking it in?

^^^ I don’t think they had to remove it probably just a couple pipes going in the intake part so they can take the intake manifold off or whatever u call it

1. I have already said in a previous post, that a gray sealant is used during engine assembly, not the black stuff. The gray is used to seal the entire engine. Valley plate, Timing cover, Oil pan. Everywhere sealant is used during assembly at the plant, its gray. This is across all engine platforms. See pics below.

2016 GS F block with valley plate removed. You can see the gray sealant around the edges. Don’t mind the hole, customer hydrolocked engine.

RX350 with timing cover removed. Same gray sealant, including around the inlet and outlet of the water pump where coolant flows.

2. It does not fail twice the factory sealant is different. It’s likely due to human error.

3. I highly doubt a judge would side with you and your lawyer & against the engineers at Three Bond. Best of luck with that.

Screen shot of email I received earlier today from Three Bond.

I rest my case. I can only hope that people will read through all 30 pages of this thread to get the facts.
FWIW I have mine apart right now doing this repair and it has black FIPG from factory
