It might be. I haven't read the emissions warranty in depth, but what I did read said catalysts, not manifolds. You would have to construct your argument around the inherent unregulated emissions caused by the leaking manifold.

It's really weird, but when I was a kid, the smell of a clean burning exhaust without catalysts was ethereal. As I have got older, I find it obnoxious. Maybe it's because they took the lead out.

Good gosh... I think my F just has fallen victim to this. For the past week, everytime I accelerate, I get a strong smell of exhaust fumes in the cabin. Looks like this is going to get expensive real quick since I'll be looking for a set of PPE headers and some one to install them.

BTW, my car is about to hit 150k after tomorrow's commute.

After reading this thread I'm getting worried. I have 60kms on my 08 and I don't smell any fumes yet. Perhaps I should be excited to replace the manifold once it starts cracking with PPE headers

I'm glad that I read this entire thread! This is such a great community where we are able to help each other out. My car has been making a ticking/sputtering sound when in Park for probably close to a year. It never bothered me since it would usually go away after shifting into Drive. I had my dealership inspect my engine and exhaust and they found a crack in the right side manifold. They replaced the manifold and gasket which fixed the issue. I hope that this doesn't become a recurring issue every 50-60K miles.

I'm actually not sure. They just confirmed that the exhaust manifold was cracked after tracing the source of the exhaust noise/leak.

^^^^Go back a few pages and you'll see most are replacing with PPE headers. I actually sold my stock manifolds to an owner with the issue. So, really, the only choices are manifold replacement or headers.

Then you sold me your PPE headers and I sold them to my friend to buy PPE V2, who is using them to this day without a hitch haha.

Add another one to the list......apparently the exhaust gases took out my starter on the passenger side.........not going the header route, but see that Magnaflow make a direct OE fitment replacement.

Out of curiosity, why aren't you going the header route?

Went with V2's, shipped out today.

See if mine are in fact cracked. I get a rattle now and then.

I ordered a set of PPE's a few weeks back from RR-R....just waiting for them to be produced and shipped. Its getting to a point where my clothes are starting to smell like exhaust fumes after my morning and evening commute.
