Will post a video I took of mine ticking, fairly sure it has the crack. Anyone have an idea what it would cost to have these replaced by lexus? Not sure I want aftermarket headers with bazooka exhaust.. might get a bit too loud even for me.

not sure about how much lexus would charge but i would say anyone doing this without warranty might as well get headers. that is gonna be a loud set up for sure even more with headers lol

i am gonna go record mine later when i go out and will upload it as well so someone can chime in and tell me whether i have the crack or not

I just change my manifold gasket i thought their is a leak because i smell gassy/exhaust smell, LABOR only to remove manifold is $700( not in the dealer). I still smell the the gassy/exhaust smell when i flooredgas pedal/accelarating fast. I think the problem is the catalytic converter creating the smell that's the thread here says

Smog laws in CA are a *****. You either go illegal smog or swap out headers every two years.

I have a 2009 ISF with 112k, I have that ticking noise as well. Is it safe to drive or should I have it replaced?

The only noise i hear in that video is the injector noise. Which is totally normal.

This seems to be only affecting early 2008-2009 models?

I think its mostly a mileage/age thing, to my knowledge its the same part across the entire range. As more 2010-2011+ models get into the 80-100k range I bet we'll start seeing a lot of them have the same problem.

No ticking but had exhaust smell (not eggs) occasionally at startup. Cracked manifold. 2008 with 70,000mi. I'm not sure which side. Should be covered for California cars under the 10yr/100,000 mi mandated emissions warranty.

I can imagine some actually letting Lexus do the work and go oem. Why ??? Headers are loud for many and they can create repetitive CELs if not installed the right way. Nobody gets CELs with oem headers. I am in AZ and we have the option to let PPE themselves do the install work so I may go that route if I still own the F when it gets to 100k. I keep eyeing those God damned GT350s. I want one badly. I think my driving has progressed beyond the F. Also another 100 hp would never hurt and manuals are AWESOME ! Decision decisions decisions

I hear ya, Tammer.. The GT350s are sweet. Though, they appear to be much less suited to be a daily driver than the IS-F. However.. if you plan to add one to your stable, rather than replace the F, I'd say giddyup!!

Hmmmmm I might just keep the stock Y-pipe with the cats I just scored, I can do headers later and have a custom Y pipe.
