Leaking Engine Coolant
I took my IS F in for the ELF and cooling fan recalls, and my SA sent me photos of leaking engine coolant (see photos). I asked if they did a cooling system pressure test to pinpoint the source of the leak, but they said, "We did not have to pressure test. The leak is from that coolant valley area and the parts needed are some gaskets, o-rings and sealant."
They said it would cost $850 to replace the seals and that it would normally cost almost double that, but there is less labor involved now since they are already addressing the other recalls.
1) Is $850 a reasonable price to replace the seals? My google searching leads me to believe it should cost ~$400-$500, but I'm no expert.
2) With the kind of leak shown in the photos, is pressure testing not really needed?

I had the exact same issue. I thought it would alsovbe half the price since a lot was already taken apart.
They will have to reapply sealant on the heat transfer / change two o rings.
Had this done when elf first came out and my coolant reservoir has not budged from the full line.
What year and mileage is your car by chance?

Hey Clarion, thanks for the reply! Mine is a 2008 with 83k miles. The water pump was previously replaced per the TSB.
Did they charge you around $850 for the repair? I need to call the dealer back and let them know if I want to proceed.
