Yeah, my wife & kids, but didn't someone already do that in the CL thread (2nd link above)? Is there some information you'd like that was not translated?

I'd love to be able to read and understand that paper. some of it is obvious, but not a lot.

Thanks for posting

To the post above - No the second link covers the original ISF engine and was posted 4 years ago.

The silver top IS F paper was translated, but not the new blue top... Can't seem to grab much of it and paste into translate.

Here are the basics, though.

Compression ratio UP intake and exhaust port improvement (intake: a high flow rate and high tumble)
Cam profile improvement (valve lift UP)
Operating range expansion (performance, both of fuel consumption, Atkinson cycle of)
Crank pin size reduction, counter weight reduction high-strength forged material, the large end hole size reduction
Titanating
Shape improved (oil hitting improvement)
Change Material
Water cooling + air cooling (circuit racing corresponding strengthening) tube length, tube diameter, optimized larger diameter surge tank volume (φ83 ← φ76) Semi dual of (exhaust interference reduction)
New D 4S (high fuel pressure of, spray shape improvement) with One way clutch
Valve lift (mm) / Material
Fuel supply system
13.0 / Ti

Oops, sorry for the misunderstanding. I can ask my wife to take a look at the more recent doc.. Though, she gets paid to translate documents, so this might cost me!

Hmmm... translates to "blue top better than silver top".

Interesting to hear about the crank pin size reduction. So the RC's got a lower bearing speed for increased high rpm longetivity.

Will think twice about using all of my new 7200 rpm redline.

I always thought the Toyota enthusiast naming of "top" had to do with the valve covers. Both incarnations of the 2UR have silver/naked valve covers do they not? Are we just referring to the intake manifold color?

Yes, we are using the intake manifold color here.... but we are using it the same way that valve cover colors on the 4AGE differentiated the various versions of that engine.

But the different color valve covers on the 4AGE were done intentionally to differentiate the variations. While the 2URGSE in the RCF is different than the ISF, I don't think the color change was intended to show a variation change between engine designs, but rather done more for aesthetic purposes. I guess time will tell, when a newer variation comes out and if they do change the color of the intake.

Anyone see the exhaust manifold change on the RH-side? Wonder if that was done for space or function.

I can't tell, but it LOOKS like they are collecting different cylinder exhaust pulses.
