Where did you guys buy yours at?

1. The false alarms are due to people leaving X and K-band when those bands are hardly used for police radar at all.

Even if you have to leave K-band on, there are a multitude of options to deal with false alerts.

2. The device is not outdated at all, they replaced the electronics many times over. There are many outdated V1's out there, but it's up to the owner to send it in for an upgrade.

3. The V1 can be mounted in other locations other than the windshield, and one can use an iphone/Android or the concealed display to make the alerts discrete.

Anyhowz, not trying to turn this thread into Escort vs. Valentine 1 grudge match.

I don't have one at the moment but shopping. Several people mention a "mirror tap" and I see it on Amazon, but can someone describe how much work it is actually to connect it to the back of the mirror? Just my personal preference but if i do this i don't like any wires hanging down from the window...

You slide off the plastic cover that runs wires to the mirror on the windshield, and insert positive and negative metal prongs into the existing wiring harness. If you do a search there are pictures and diagrams (that I updated to as well) very clean and easy install.

I'll be opening it up again soon to run a dashcam

I picked the max 2 because it has bluetooth. You can download the app and see where people have pinpointed cops. One of the features is you hold the mute button and it reports to app there is cop in that area. Now mind you sometimes they will be gone by the time you get there but can hurt to slow down. I like the style of it to. Looked more up to date and its not huge. Im an appearance guy though along with function.

The mirror tap is very easy. slide off back cover and insert metal prongs into the metal harness. You don't have to tap wire or insert prongs into the wires.

I will take pictures and post.

Just got blend mount and tap yesterday. Will install this weekend.
