My ISF was rear ended tonight . Can't load pictures yet . Damage is very minimal scratches and a loose faux tips and dents. The othe car a Mercedes s550 Amg got damaged pretty bad . Will the accident even though not my fault come up on a car fax report. His insurance going to call me tomorrow . Just want to ask for diminished value in case I ever decide to part with car . Because I know when buying a car if it shows accidents on it no matter how minimal you always offer less. Any information or what course of action some of you that's this has happened would be greatly appreciated .

Up here in British Columbia Canada that will surely show up on the cars history. Any claim through insurance will show up for us. Not sure what your policies are like where you are. Most places have a "minimum" damage amount where anything above that and it'll be on file.

I'm so sorry to hear, bud. It's unfortunate that these things happen, but thank goodness you're alright and that no one was hurt.

From what I know, only the police department (if present) and insurance are aware of the accident. I don't think I've ever seen one of our previous cars shown with accident damage when we've sold our vehicles to CarMax or even private party, even though it all went through insurance and accredited body shops for repair.

If there's a police report, it's going to show. If there is no police report, some shops do not report to insurance and it doesn't appear on Carfax or Autocheck.
