I recently got my 09 ISF and had a few questions pertaining to some noises I'm hearing.
Of course I'm hearing the ticking from the motor but until it causes any issues I can live with it.. My real questions deal with
A: When I go over a bump such as a pot hole cover or something that makes my suspension articulate quickly at low speed, I hear a rattling noise from what seems like the suspension / hub. If it makes any difference in on 2012 shocks and soft springs. (my extended warranty is kicking in soon so I hope that it doesn't play a roll in it as I'm sure they will be quick to deny it)
B: When I am coming to a stop or slowing down and the car shifts into first on its own (I think only in manual mode) there is a clunk / slight jerk sometimes... It may be coming from the rear end? Is it some type of locking or unlocking that's going on? Does anyone else have either of these issues. Thanks so much as always guys
having same issue which drove me crazy
but the noise goes away and come back once in while.
It seems like its like normal stuff for ISF but noise sounds doesn't right lol
Thanks man, I really hope that's what it is.. That definitely could be it as it does sound like it's coming from the front drivers side part of the car.. It's pretty annoying hearing this rattle everything I hit anything.. Over speed bumps and whatnot it doesn't do it.. Just quick inconsistencies in the road..
Not sure about the rattle as I don't have it. The clunk on the other hand I do have and I do believe it's the torque converter locking and unlocking. Usually happens if I'm coming to a complete stop in manual mode.
Car looks great bro. I wouldn't worry about the downshift to 1st, my car does that too, I believe it is normal. The ticking from the motor is also normal. Not sure about the suspension clunk, can you take a video so we can hear it?
Yea, manual mode can be a bit jumpy if you're driving through town at low RPMS / lower speeds and are used to the smoothness of auto mode. Feeling the downshifts when coming to a stop is normal.
Hopefully the other noise it is just the ebrake cable and not the suspension.
I figured the downshifting was something "normal" but it's still nerve wracking until you guys confirmed it..
As far as the rattle.. It really sound like someone had a penny in a can and shakes it when I go over something that makes the car vibrate a little.. Big bumps like speed bumps or dips do not cause the sound.. It does sound like it's coming from the front drivers side wheel well/underbody. Let's pray it's that cable.. If I jack the car up can I access it or should I just wait.
As far as tires.. I'm pretty sure I'm on normal sizes.. Not rubbing. (at least no marks.. And my rears are rolled.
