Its a great touch and would jazz up the interior a little. I like the fact that Lou's is the same color as the rest of the interior . I have seen some that do the grey wheel with the trim being white

Is the damper needed for this steering wheel and what does it do?

^^^^The damper is already installed on the ISF, unlike the ISX50 which never came with one. However, many ISX50 owners have added it. It improves the steering feel, and IMO, the added weight of the DCTMS wheel improves it even more.
