Hey I made that thread haha.

It was actually around $800 shipped if you gave the seller a "best offer".

Definitely a smokin" once in a lifetime deal for a brand new seeder transmission directly from Toyota.

They're all gone now.

And they had so many unused ones they had to give them away. Doesn't sound like they're failing much at all. Hope the spares age well and get better with time.

You know my motto. Stay ready don't need to get ready.

Things break trust me had to buy a V160 brand new couple years ago so never say never.

I didn't say never, and I rebuilt my V-160 myself after I broke it, so fixing a gearbox isn't a big deal to me. Blowing one up to the point of uneconomical repair is a big deal. So far, we've only had one member do this.

Anything that goes wrong with my tranny to me will be an uneconomical repair. I know absolutely nothing about transmissions and any repair at the dealer will be no less than $1000. I look at it this way, if I use it then good for me, If I don't, then no big deal. It was only $1000 anyways and I'm sure if I posted it for sale for $1000 it will be a very quick sale.

We have ISF's beaten to death by many members (NOS, turbo and lots of 1/4 passes) and out of the thousands of ISF members on this forum, only one had an official documented failure. (btw that member had a completely stock ISF so I call it a fluke)

This transmission is very strong and can handle much more than the engine in its current form can give. We can't explore the limits of this transmission without a proper tuning solution but its definitely safe to say that we're jumping to conclusions just because we're used to hearing about transmission failures from other manufacturers.

The ISF transmission price right now its in a weird state, its priced high because of limited availability and cost to manufacture but since the failure rate is so low, the demand isn't there (which is why they are blowing out the price). In a few years if we don't hear about any issues then it would be safe to say that these "spare" transmissions will be worth no more than the paperclip on the desk next to me.

I agree with others, our tranny seems pretty damn bulletproof. Only one issue out of all of us is pretty good odds.

Really... You're a low-life. You actually paid less than $1k. I'm all about buying low and selling high in life, but don't lie and try to hide it. Especially when there's a damn thread about it a few pages back that you posted in.

Wow that's harsh. I don't know Gearbangin from anybody but one thing I will say is I think the whole situation regarding the transmissions is more of a joke and sarcasm than anything else. That's at least how I have been taking it. You need to lighten up.
