Thanks Lou!

I just put on some new Raybestos rotors and will be installing the Textar pads this week when they arrive. I liked the OEM feel and performance and don't mind the dusting. Otherwise, I think I would have went with the Porterfields or Ferrodos.

You're welcome and I didn't realize Brembo didn't make the brake pads. When I had my two front pads removed the labeling said brembo. It's definitely the OEM pad though. Here's a picture...

Yes, that's how the stock pads are marked (Note, they also have the Toyota name on them) It's known by the community that the OEM pads are made by Jurid.

Although Textar could have been added. These pads sure look a lot like OEM pads to me:

So the Textar's are basically OE but much cheaper than the Toyota branded ones. I found the Toyota branded ones just for the front's at $271.00. That's significantly more expensive than the Textar's.

bumping an old thread, anyone notice in that link that was supplied: http://toyolexparts.com/index.php/ne...s-set-102.html

It mentions new oem brake pads and rotors and in the pictures they're textar pads, the description even goes to say that they're oem. Maybe a shift in manufacturers at some point?

Any new updates from those who tried them?

I have around 15k on my front Textar pads. Feels and dusts pretty much like OE pads. Noisy like the OE pads too.

Bumping a really old thread to just add additional information. The early cars 2008-2009 were shipped with Jurid pads. They were noisy and dusty. My car had the rear pads replaced 2x and front 1x by the dealer for the noise. The final set of pads are the Textar, no noise, same dust. This was in late 2009, so they introduced the Textar pads at about that time. They all came in a box that said Toyota/Lexus and had "brembo" printed on the backs but Jurid or Textar stamped into the backing plate in the upper left of the back of the pad. Now you can buy the Textar pad in "Textar" generic form on eBay from Europe. They are the same compound but have a small cut out on one side of the fronts for use of an electronic wear sensor when used in the Mercedes application. 1 style probably saves the company money.

I just put these on yesterday, feel great with initial run. Easiest brake job I've ever done. And I've done more than a few. The pads are the same as the ones in your link. Got the whole setup from BMAParts.com for $679 out the door.

I wasn't sure if he was responding to my reply before but I posted this right before his;

BREMBO pads: P83146N

They don't seem too expensive at all but I wonder how the bite is on these? If they are similar to OEM but with little brake dust, I'm fine with that.

Nice! When do you plan to install? Let us know how it goes and what differences you feel compared to the OEM pads.
