Default Durability of the Tom's front lip

Quick question for owners with the Tom's front lip installed. Before installing, I'm thinking of having the front lip and side skirts clear bra'ed for protection from rock chips. Not sure if its worth doing or not. For owners that don't have it protected, how has the lip held up against every day driving? Should I worry about small rocks damaging the lip?

IMO, if you're spending a significant amount of $$ on the lip & skirts you should do what you can to protect it. I recently had my front end 3M'd.

Any lip that is low to the ground will be pockmarked by road debris. Since it is not a cheap lip that is easy to get, Clear Bra is the way to go. Now if these minor marks do not bother you, then save the money. I even put slip tape under the lip to prevent scrapes from damaging the lip.

If I could afford a brand new or mint Toms lip I would definitely put clear bra over it

I'm in agreement with the previous posts...for the cost associated it's worth the extra money (IMO) to get it protected. My front end has the clear bra and I, like you, have recently been looking into purchasing a front lip. If/when I do I will be getting it protected before it goes on the car.

Agree with everything above but believe this nothing that you add to the lip will save it from scrapes or breaking. Maybe small rockchips but that's where everything ends. My moto just avoid high entrances & drive careful that's how you make any lip last.

Installing skateboarding slip tape under the lip will definitely prevent scrapes. Ask me how I know. Now if you hit something head on, it's another story.
