08 isf wouldn't start !
I lend my car to my sister after doing the 60 k service a week after she couldn't start the car . She recorded the problem and later showed it to me , I Only see the rpm meter moving up and back down without firing or even crank. I asked her how did she get it to star?t she reply " I kept trying until it start it took about 10 minutes ". I had it drop off at the dealer and they couldn't find anything, but assume that it's the starter , which I doubt it , if its the starter then it would have been clicking . All terminal are tighten nothing is lose. It remained a mystery and wonder if anyone have this problem ? I hate to replaced something that isn't broken and sure as hell don't want to pay 2,400 for the part and labor. I rather do it myself takes about 9.5 hrs labor. Don't want this to happen on the road .

10 hrs to replace the starter?
|
starter on this car looks hard, woudnt doubt it

Book time. You have to drop one of the headers to get to it easily. It might be possible to do with the header in place, but then again, it's impossible to be sure until you're faced with the task.

Maybe the battery in the key fob?
|
Yjk1975 you are right on. It looks like the key fob wasn't recognize . I think we made have a solution after all the 60k service was done by myself but I forgot about the battery in the key fob needed to be replaced as it is recommend in the service Manuel . Thank you for reminding me . Easy fixed the starter doesn't need to be replaced just yet. These starter will last a long time ,and inorder to replaced it the header on #3 cylinder has to be removed.

I really need to get my key fob battery replaced asap! Every now and then I get a prompt stating no key is detecting when I am sitting in the front seat with it in my pocket.

Always look for the simplest solutions.

also, for those that have two key fobs, rotate them bc if one is left unused for too long, it'll just kill the battery. i've left one key fob at home, disassebled, new battery out, all in a zip lock bag.

This happen to me as well. I placed my FOB directly next to the start button and it started right up. I only did this out of previous experience on another vehicle. Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I was told since its a transmitter you should be able to start with a dead FOB battery if placed next to the pust start button. Glad you found the easy fix👍
