Currently I have a square setup on G-spider - 225 / 45 / 18.

Would you guys recommend a staggered larger size on the rear 245 / 255?

Also wondering if I should get the 8.5 rear width G-spiders

I went with a square 245 setup last year and this year. 225s were too weak in the rear and 225/255 didn't allow me to rotate the tires. The rears wear out 2x faster than the fronts.

Check out the Nokian WR G3. They give up a little snow and ice performance when compared to a dedicated snow snow tire, but are leaps and bounds above all seasons. The car will also handle pretty good on wet and dry pavement, something a dedicated snow completely loses.

I typically buy a nice/more expensive summer wheels and use the OEM for winters. I am running 235mm square studded nokian happilatta 8s even though the OEM wheels are staggered.

By going down to an 18inch wheel for winters, it allows to run a tire with more sidewall, which makes things a little smoother over the ice ruts, potholes, and frost heaves.
Plus they are less expensive.
Someone is trying to sell the stock 19's with blizzaks for $4,500 on Kijiji

Or maybe I should put mine with new Nokians on for $5,000 so I could just buy a winter beater

Sylvan, how are the studded Hakk's working out for you?

I'm running 225 Toyo Observe Garit KX (rears are brand new) but traction in the rear still seems to be lacking. lots of wheel spin. Do you guys add any weight or sand bags in the trunk for winter?

I haven't drive in the snow yet, but with my Dunlop Winter Sport 4Ds, in the dry (and 25* F), I spun the wheels when I floored it at 65.

Ya I still spin a fair bit, I think that might be tough to avoid with these cars I tried to slid a corner this morning and it pretty much just gripped and went. I went with 235mm I am pretty happy with them on the icy hi ways last week it felt stable.

I've noticed the VSC does a good job of preventing the car from getting sideways. Sport mode and VSC off makes for some fun driving tho.

To add to this thread, I'm running 225/40/R19 front and 245/45/R19 rear on stock rims as my winter setup. I'm using Blizzak LM-60. So far no issues on light snow (its November). I'll report back when the weather gets worse

While other OEM wheels will fit by the spec's, I am only sure about the 2 styles above as I have run both of them on My F in the past. They clear the brakes no problem.

Bumping an old thread. Anyone know if it’s safe to run 225 front and 255 rear on the Lexus Spyder wheels, or is it best to stick with a square 225 setup?

Searched a bunch of threads, but didn't find an idea or an option.. (not aftermarket discount tire or tirerack wheels)

What other OEM SQUARE wheels clear the F brakes in 18 inch size?

not planing on using the F in the winter, but need to find a set of cheap not to ugly 18's
to mount new winter rubber on

https://parts.lexus.com/p/Lexus__/F-...TR5953130.html

I just bought 4 of these for a winter square setup. 18x8 et40 clears front and rear brakes. They also have 18x8.5 et45 that should clear front and rear brakes as well if you wanted the wider option.

For the price you can't go wrong and it's oem quality rim. I paid $369 after tax for 4 rims from Dorschel Lexus. The price was so good that I drove across the boarder from Canada to buy them.
