Traction control turning it's self on after being turned off???

This is probably me being a muppet but worth an ask. I was driving the over day and turned off traction control. Light comes on the dash and then within 5 mins the light on the dash is off again. Did this 2 or three times. Any ideas?

When i first got my IsF i was wondering same thing. I think its a safety reason. For full traction off and to stay on press and hold the button for 5eeconds

Oh ok! Assume the warning light stays on that way?

if you press and hold down the traction control button for several seconds it should stay off until you switch of the car or push the button again.

Traction control light and warning lights come on and stay on.

Be careful when you turn off traction control fully, if there's any rain or sand on the ground be prepared for a 360 if you're not pointing the car straight :D

and awesome choice of car, especially in the UK, I think I've only seen 2 or 3 ISFs in my 21 years living in the UK

Or do the pedal dance :)

You're supposed to come to a full stop and then hold the trac button down for at least 5 seconds. VSC and Trac will then be turned off......+1 on what Defratos said, be careful.

The ISF is 7 years old so I think you'd have a hard time seeing one 21 years ago :)

traction control doesn't fully turn off with the button held down. u need to do the pedal dance to fully have it off 100%.

Bad idea. The pedal dance takes away the electronic LSD. Even with the OEM torsen, the eLSD is a great idea because a Torsen acts just like an open diff if you lift a wheel. I've proved this beyond all doubt at the track. Never will do the pedal dance again, the car is way better with just a press and hold to shut off VSC while in Sport mode.

So you're saying a 2008 with the 2010 diff has an advantage over the 2010 model year due to the ELSD? I track my car but I'm not seasoned enough to feel the difference between having ELSD off/on.

The eLSD never went away. It's still there unless you do the pedal dance, and wisely so.

Turn 8, CMP on track out with pedal dance, the engine revved to the limiter like I had a bad clutch until the rear wheel came back on the ground. I'll never run without the eLSD again, and as I said above, even with a Torsen, if you lift a rear wheel as I did exiting turn 8, your engine will hit the limiter unless you have the eLSD working. This is also why I think the stock front springs are inadequate for track driving. The rear wheel shouldn't come off the ground in the first place and wouldn't if the front springs were up to the task.
