Default Twin Turbo

Hello everyone i wanted to ask who here had a Twin turbo setup/ which kind? I really love my IsF but i love speed and 12 second car is not good enough for me. Also nobody in newyork has a twin turbo setup so it would nice to be a one of a kind IsF. Im selling my GsXR 750 so im really interested in a TT setup. Thank you all. All information related would be very much appreciated as im still semi noobish to IsF thanks

Standalone ecu with custom wiring and go back to port injection. That might be the only way right now. Very expensive to do.

The other variable is if the transmission will function correctly, or have to me in "M" mode all the time.

It can be done, it just has to be low boost (5-7psi). IS250/350 owners have been boosting for years (although only a handful of us). The very few ISF's that have twin turbo'ed all have drama or uncertainty about the performance and reliability (of the turbos, not long term of the engine). I dont know if people were scared to post low gains or what, but i dont see why they would have issues.

Standalone ecu... be sure you have no credit limit if you want anything on the car to function after that...

doesnt seem worth it on an F, cant tune it and it probably wont run that wel. Could buy a CTS-V, it's FI and tuneable

I dont think you will find more than 1 or 2 people with turbos on their ISF. Not a common mod.....at all.

If you're willing to toss that kid of cash into a project Id say dump the F and buy something faster . The car will not be reliable for the long haul. Why not just some NOS and call it a day ??

Agreed with everyone. Its possible but it wont be a ton of gains and no tune available for the IS-F unless you do standalone system. The downside of the standalone system is you will lose all the IS-F features that is tied in to the ECU which i believe the smart key is tied in. You would also have to go with an STS style twin turbo system (which if you dont know is a rear mounted turbo in place of mufflers) since there is no up front exhaust manifold type yet. Many turbo people say though that the computer is advanced enough to make the necessary changes to the system to support the turbo application though...

To add, some people got very decent numbers from the STS style turbo systems at 5-7 psi. If you do the research, there is a couple IS-F's out there that broke the 500hp numbers when a baseline IS-F dynos at around 360-370 whp. Pretty decent gains IMO for a stock ECU

I dont own a F but from what Ive seen I/H/E and a shot of nitrous can shoot you in 5xxwhp range easily and thats 11 second power.

If you want a fast car, just pick a better platform. There will likely NEVER be a custom tuning option, save for a standalone.

That said I had talked to Pro-efi a few weeks back and they got their ECU working in an ISF and it retained all functions except the trans would not shift in auto mode. It worked fine in manual mode. He felt with some more time they might have been able to figure that out as well.
