Default Apexi Throttle Controller

Hey Guys,

Will make this a quick introduction post as well as a request for some help if that's ok.

I recently bought my ISF over here in the UK (early Xmas present! Lol), and have fitted a Takeda cold air intake, and F sport carbon shift ****. Next step will be to fit a proper stainless exhaust system, with true quad tailpipes. Stuno aka Stu is another UK owner on here, and I will probably get the same custom exhaust he did (mine may include secondary de-cat though).

I actually started buying my first mods before I even had the car! Lol. In addition to the intake, I ordered myself an Apexi Throttle Controller (having read good things about them on here).

From what I could find, no one has actually installed one of these per the recommended fitting instructions? I can appreciate why no one bothered tracing the reverse wire to splice in the controller, but I noticed the installation guide mentions it will affect the performance if the reverse wire isn't installed??

Can anyone shed some light on where the reverse wire is located (guessing under the centre console by the shifter somewhere?), and if they have actually wired it in fully?

I've already located the switch in one of the blanks on my dashboard (even that was quite involving as they are clipped in!), and can see the throttle wire I need to connect the controller to at the top of the accelerator pedal. Would also love some advice on where to locate the box under the dash??

Thanks guys.

Peter

Hi Peter.

The sole purpose of the reverse wire is to limit the effects of the sensitive throttle when in reverse mode. This will lessen the chance of "harming your transmission". That's about it. So, solution: don't have your throttle controller on when in reverse.
To add, my throttle controller was on quite a few times during reversing the car. As long as you are not pushing the pedal down aggressively, it will be fine.
Extra unneeded work!

Thanks for clearing that up.

Will finish my install this weekend.

How are you finding it? Seems most people really feel these make a big difference to the cars responsiveness.

Did like the fact it slots away so neatly in the dash blank.

Looks OEM.

Cheers.
