Installing MY2011 headlight
I've purchased the MY2011 headlight from Sewell earlier and planning to install them on my 09 isf soon. :)
I already knew about the AFS light flashing problem on the dashboard and I'm planning to just put a black tape on it and cover it. However, will I still have the auto-leveling and auto left and right adjust functions after I install them?   Are the headlights direct plug-in or do I need some modifications? :uh: :uh: :uh: I'm confused right now... Please help! |

If you ordered the loaded version then they are pretty much plug and play. If you got the stripped version then you will have to transfer over your ballast and one turn signal light. PM me if you need some help. I've done the stripped version 4 times already. Also, hopefully you got the new brackets too.

You mention getting new brackets, so you need to get the 2011+ headlight brackets as well? Do you also have to cut the bumper?

You don't have to order the new brackets, but it will make the installation easier. If you use your old brackets, you will have to modify them to fit correctly. There's no need to cut the bumper.

I wouldn't waste money on new plastic brackets. Took about 10 minutes to trim the stock ones and they fit perfect.

There is a thread on how to do it in the is250/350 forum. I would search for you, but I'm away from my computer.

Thanks a lot...:cry::cry: This person wrote up a pretty detailed DIY, but you're looking at step 17. As an additional FYI, you'll also want the correct flasher unit. |
