What Oil you boys using?
I'm about to change oil just wondering what weight is recommended?
I've only had dealer oil changes and i'm worried about using Mobile 5w30 since I have 85k on my car and worried that I'll get oil leaks.
Should I continue using the semi synth that the stealer uses? Also is 5w30 the recommended weight.
**rant**
I normally take the car into the stealer, but since moving Concord lexus got one try and failed in terms of the service IMO. After charging me 800$ to diagnose my coolant leak (water pump replaced already) they told me nothing I already didn't know other than there was a leak.

800 including the 150$ oil change, so... Yeah... I got lubed and bent over, hence why I'm not going back. Serramonte Lexus has always treated me well, but F, i'm a DIY, and if you see my other thread i just posted... I now know where the leak is but i'll be Fed if I can get to it. Man I wish this was a 2jz... So easy to work on lol. there is NO space to get behind this engine!

2JZ has it's own issues. Upper oil pan leaks are a PITA to fix, AMHIK/

Once upon a time when I brought my IS350 there I asked about synthetic oil.. they said only the ISF gets that standard and the charge was $89.99. Is that to say if I bring my ISF there they will do just that?.. even I have my doubts. I may just go up the street, but with a 10qt capacity it doesn't sound like there is any escaping a costly experience.

Otherwise, I go to Lexura in Pleasanton and bring the oil with me.
