Default headlight tab repair

does anyone have any experience with these headlight tab repair parts:

RH Upper: 81193-53020
RH Lower: 81195-53010 (Closer to the grille)
LH Upper: 81194-53010
LH Lower: 81196-53020

just wondering how well they work and what are the requirements, ie do you need part of the existing tab intact?

thx

I have. In my opinion they work really well. You will need to trim off the tab in place with either a dremel or similar tool(but be careful not to grind down into the actual housing). You don't need any part of the existing tab, but you will need the two screw holes in the surround to be intact. The new tab is secured to the housing by two screws, and functions just like the built in tabs if done correctly. I'm somewhat surprised the engineers had the foresight to include provisions for replacing the main tabs but I'm certainly glad they did. They work much better than trying to glue back on broken tabs.

I used the top replacements (the ones that clip to the fender) with great success. As STLblueF said, be careful grinding down the broken tabs.
