It seems like most of the hate comes from the add talking about the "heritage" that the F brand is known for. I did think that was a poor choice of words to be fair, and probably worthy of a little criticism.
Well, if you look at what the F has achieved in a brief period of time, it actually is much more impressive than what BMW achieved in the same time with the M3. In this context, there is heritage.

BMW is going to 431HP and 406lb/Ft and a 4.0 0-60. i hope Lexus beats the numbers. Our biggest gain over the e92 was the torque difference. Look like Germany caught on.

I have to say if the M3 has the same craoy dashboard layout of the current 3's and 4's I'm not interested at all.

The higher torque figures are definitely due to it being forced induction. That should also open up the tuner market for those cars even wider, much like the N54. Reliability issues aside, we'll be seeing some damn fast M3s out there in a few years, as 500rwhp and 450 torque at the wheels seems attainable.

What has me more concerned for Lexus is the projected price point of the M3. That article says "about $60K" which even if it is stripped down, means it looks like it'll be about the cost of the current M3.

From my perspective Lexus does not need to beat the others in HP or pure speed, it is the combination of attributes that attracted us to the IS-F. We looked at Merc and BMW but since ours is a 365 day a year driver, we held reliability above all else while still loving the performance and the look of the F. It is my wife’s daily and even her boss is jealous of her USB F. I look forward to this next itteration and hope to pick one up in a few years when we decide to trade in our current F.

Reliability was the first dimension for me when shopping. Needless to say I landed on a Lexus pretty quick

The official detail infor is released in regards of the new M3/M4.
It lloks like the RC-F and possibly next IS-F in a totally different animal.

M3/M4 is only 425HP, but quite lighter than the previous model.
The 1990s instument cluster gets another round LOL.

If the RCF has 455hp and is the same weight as the ISF, I wouldn't even consider it even if luxury is vastly improved. If the RCF is somewhere around 3300lb, now we're talking.

just spoke to a friend at Lexus and he mentioned that the color of the RC-F will be the orange like the one from lexus racing in the link below. Said they hope to have by Nov 2014.

Am I the only one who heard the M3 coupe is no more?

Disappointing results for that race - the IS-F was fourth in class and best lap was 7 seconds slower than the winning Audi TT. That's an eternity on the track.

That TT RS was no where near a stock car and the F was a weight reduced stock platform running a future production motor. So its not surprising. Lexus is still very conservative in motorsports.
