Yeah my car has a bunch of tiny chips all over the windshield. I didn't realize it before buying it. It doesn't bother my driving but when I'm inside the cabin and the sun is shining towards the windshield I can see tons of 'em.

I speak on behalf of the rock chips on my windshield cause I barely drive the car, but I like the anti-rain (rain-x) coating on them.

a month after I bought my F, I was on the highway and a rock the size of a golf ball came off the truck ahead of me and smacked into the middle of the windshield. It sounded like a hammer, should have gone through. I have a tiny tiny mark that is not worth fixing. I think Lexus come with pretty good glass.

Most car manufactures use windshield glass from the same company like PPG, Penningtion etc and stamped thieir car brand on it.
My F is my daily... I do have two small chips on the windshield but that's couple time it also bounces off rocks without a scratch on the windshield

I have a few......because race car. I really think it's because of the rapid acceleration. My DD doesn't have as many chips as my F, and it's 11 years older.

With that said, the glass is strong. I think a bird or something flew into my windshield beak first and all I have is a chip. Scared the ***** out of me and I really thought the windshield was cracked but it was just a chip.

My F has already gone through 3 windshields.... I was told that the glass is actually thinner on the edges than it is in the middle because of the shape... this goes for all ISx I believe, thats why its so common for rock chips and cracks.

After 8 months of ownership and I have to admit Toyota windscreens are crap -----> https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...n-cracked.html

I've installed a new front screen and now I need to tint the front to help with cracks in future.

Oh how I wish we could tint the front window here in the states. Especially down here in texas where that would help with the heat.

Hahaha my thoughts were more for looks than protection I've seen some cars with tinted front windshields that looked amazing.

I had to replace the OEM windshield on my 08 is f a few years ago because of the crack. I bought a 2000 RX300 brand new and never had to replace the windshield when I sold it earlier this year at 297,000 miles

you sold it at almost 300k miles? don't know whats more impressive, you selling it for that high of mileage or the fact that it lasted this long.

Don't mean to hijack this thread but after 13 years of use, I just didn't want to put any more money for annoying minor repair (sold it for $2300). Bought the wife a new 2013 RX450h in March of this year. So far so good - no sign of any windshield crack.
