12 ISF headlight haze
CL members,
I'd like your feedback on my issue with the headlights.
I noticed that both of my headlight lens were starting to haze inside the unit so I took it to Lexus of Rockville, MD for an inspection. Service advisors saw the issue but told me to make an appointment with their district manager, and few weeks later (last Monday) I went in to hear from the manager that she cannot get me a new set because it's only a cosmetic issue. I got frustrated talking to a wall so I drove back home and called Lexus to open a case.
Lexus rep called me back today and told me that she will respect the district manager's decision and just close the case. Then I complained until she put me on hold so that Lexus engineer can review the images that I sent. Couple mins later, the rep tells me that she was told this issue occurs when the headlight seal is bad, causing condensation. What I was seeing, according to the engineer, is dried condensation. So I thought she was going to agree to replace them, but rather she accused me of possibly damaging the headlight seals from a collision and asked me to contact my insurance company. I was left speechless for her idiotic recommendation since my car never had any body work done. After that call, I called her once more and was told that condensation marks are normal (WTF!!!), and Lexus will not replace my headlights.
So now I'm stuck with degraded headlights with no support from Lexus. Anyone have or had similar issue with their headlights? Anyone have a solution for me other than buying a new set or baking them to repair?
*** Haze extends further out towards the fender, but my camera had difficulty focusing on it to show the whole picture. ***

Go to another Lexus dealership and try again. I had headlight condensation problem few months back this year, I called the dealership manager before I went , the manager said headlight condensation is not included in the warranty. Next time I did was e-mail the service manager, he simply reply " New Headlight ordered, bring your F in anytime". So..I'm would suggest you go to another dealership or work with the service manager. ^^^^Since the same headlights are used throughout the Lexus IS line, I really don't think this has relevance.
However, it does appear to be a product defect. A better check would be the month and year produced. You may also want to query the members in the IS thread.
I have an "08 with original headlights (my wife has an '08 ES) Neither of them show any condensation.

The factory rep is a simpleton and should realize cosmetics are a huge part of the F line.
Go to another dealership and find someone with some smarts and Lexus passion. I had the same problem with my GS and they were replaced. I have a 2012 F and have not had an issue with the headlights.

Yea, I plan to visit another dealer... probably Annapolis. I cannot accept Lexus's BS about this being normal for 2012 w/ 10k miles.
Since I can't seem to capture the haze in one shot, here's an illustration of affected areas.
