Default Help with 2011 headlight upgrade

Hi everyone, i did a search but nothing come up regarding the question im about to ask. So i want to upgrade my 08 headlights to the 2011 LED ones. My question is can i use my old bulbs and ballast in the new light housing? Or i would have to purchase a complete set? Thanks

Yes you can transfer everything from your 08 housings to the new ones.

.......except dust covers (which become round), city lights disappear and you have to cut your bumper brackets. Dual turn signal bulbs also change to a single bulb.

Its really easy to do. I cut out my ballasts from my old headlights and soldered them together. If you're handy with a dremel then you can use the old brackets. Also, the flasher relay is different because the new ones only use one turn signal. Lastly, you will have a flashing afs light on your panel. The cluster can be removed in 5 minutes and I put a piece of black tape over the light after I removed the gauge clusters cover. PM me if you have any questions. I've done this 3 times already.

Sorry......Its not a big deal and I used the wrong terminology....... there's a small "position" peanut or LED/ parking bulb in your housing beside the HID bulbs...it is no longer used in the new headlights as the LED strip takes over for it.
