Default NJ isF owners help needed!!!!! to check out a 2010 isF

A coworker of mine is wanting to get the isF after seeing mine. After browsing autotrader, we ran across this car but it is across the country. Buying it blind is not a good idea so I wonder if any of our owners that lives near this New Jersey dealer can drop by to check it out. Your help is greatly appriciated.

Plugged the VIN into http://owners.lexus.com. Noticed a few things...

REWIRED RADAR UNIT, NO MORE DRAIN, TEST OK
- Drilling for radar unit caused leakage? This seems suspect.

REPLACED STEERING WHEEL ASSY, GOODWILL AS PER CARMINE
- This doesn't sound normal..

SECURED LOOSE OBJECT AND WIRING ON LEFT SIDE DASHBOARD, ROAD TEST OK
- This could be related to the **** that I noticed in one of the pics... not sure what it's for ... maybe an aftermarket sound system?

I hope this helps the person going to the dealer to check out the car and your buddy who wants to pick it up, it is important to look out for the above items when seeing the car. Some of the guys in NEISF should be able to check out the car.

I'd suspect 'drain' is likely for a power drain when the car is turned off (not hooked up to switched wire)

I love the typical dealer BS...

"BMW OF ROXBURY IS EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THE ARRIVAL OF THIS RARE 2010 LEXUS IS-F ..."

ISF's are rare, I hope you know that.

Rock chips should be the least of his concerns. When I bought my 08 2 years ago it had rock chips but I lived with it because the car was pretty much brand new with only 16k miles. I'd be concerned about bigger things as mentioned above like the loose object wiring and steering wheel assembly replacement.

So the BMW dealer is excited?
I guess they're excited only because they can make a $5K+ plus profit on the rare IS-F.
That car seems to have some issues and the dealer knows about them but they're excited...

I'm sure the dealer took it in cheap due to the issues we read here and maybe more and the 'we can't certify it so this is the trade number".
Nice IS-F color but owner modifying may have some future issues.

This one is more money but looks very nice and lower miles.Lexus warranty till 3/15.

That makes that IS-F even nicer.
Peace of mind is worth some extra $$$ if one can afford it.I would think there's a bit of play on the asking price.

I too am looking for a 2010 in NJ - low mileage, entirely unmodified examples are pretty few and far between around here. I contacted seller of the red one, he told me he had a buyer lined up.

Ohh well, it is not worth the trouble to get this one. My buddy really liked the Wald front bumper, but that is not the reason to buy that car. There is a much cleanner 10' blue one with white interior locally with 33k miles. I think I will just advince him on getting the local car even though if it has 17k miles more and no Wald front bumper. The local one is in immaculate condition.
