Maybe for 20k for a track car would be better, but I would rather have it for 14k wreck so at least I know what damages on the car and rebuild it myself.

Nobody noticed the fake eBay replica exhaust tips and the ugly azz tail lights? The body shop obviously cheaped out on the repairs.

I just put a deposit on it. It will be a track only car. Thanks for the link! Car Block FTW!

As long as its a good shop, and it can hold an alignment, and there are not huge gaps between panels, I would be ok with it.
The only way a car gets a salvage title is if the repair cost more than the car is worth... that doesn't mean it was reported correctly to a car fax or an insurance company. Salvage titles are bad things... this is a good race car starter

And since when does a $60k car make you look rich??? Although when people who dont know guess, they guess around 100k.

Buying used gives the appearance of being rich I suppose. A lot of people would ask me how much I make when I had my LS430 UL. I paid 16 and some change for a 93,000$ brand new car.

We should have a "what do you do, and how much do you make" thread ^__^

Most states the damage has to be 75% of the cars worth for a salvage title...which is a lot of damage! See the link below for good info. The fact that they are trying to downplay the damage that was done to the car is a bit troubling.http://usedcars.about.com/od/safetyr...lvageTitle.htm

^^ Yea but with the cost of replacement parts on the F I bet it wouldn't take much to write one off. If the bags go in the collision I bet you're pretty close to writing it off from the insurance company's standpoint. I'm weird and spend a lot of my time looking on salvage auto websites and yea some are completely eff'ed but a majority of the salvage title cars are in my opinion pretty light hits that would be easily fixed.

Maybe that isn't the case here but who knows... just saying!

There is just no way I would buy one from ebay sight unseen. If it was local and I had a shop I knew look it over to see the extent of the damage, maybe.

agreed but the fact that they say the airbags werent deployed and their was no frame damage only bumpers and minor stuff just doesnt sound right. Im not a mechanic or autobody tech but this deal screams shady

I like to think of the isf as a doing well car.
