Hello folks,

I was wondering if any of you have experienced having the VSC and check engine light go off? Mine went off after flooring it and the car now starts from second gear. Any idea what is going on and how to reset this?

Need more details. I have never heard of a CEL in a bone stock ISF... based on statistics I'm assuming you have exhaust and headers? I would go to Autozone and pull the codes, then troubleshoot from there. We can help you out once you have the codes.

It's normal for the car to start in second gear when VSC and CEL lights are on.

Your in limp mode. I would do what VJ stated above and go from there also you can also tell us more about your car. Is it stock? Did you install any mods?

I've had headers on for 2 years without an issue. I disconnected the battery and reset last night. Will wait for another CEL and then take it ti autozone.

Your 02 simulator may have took a crap on you.

If you're in Orange County I carry a code scanner in my car you can use.

I've only gone into limp once and after maybe 20 miles the code cleared itself and the car was fine again.

Thanks for the offer but I'm up in SF/bay area. So far, no cel, hopefully it will not come back.

this just happened to me last week when i installed my headers. We tried using aftermarket O2 sensors and i got a cel plus the VSC and 2nd gear start. It all went away after the OEM O2 sensors were installed.

I had the same issue but it happen when my battery went dead. After giving it a boost the check engine light came on and the system said to check vsc. I took off the positive connection for a about 2min than I reconnected it and the check engine and vsc lights came off and car was back to normal. Still gonna go to the dealer just to check it though.
