Just saw this review http://www.autoblog.com/2013/03/25/2013-lexus-is-f/
Found this towards the end of the article:
On that front, Lexus doesn't have plans to discontinue the IS F in the face of the new IS. I was told that this car will stay on sale concurrently with the new model, presumably until Lexus decides to built a second generation of the F. Frankly, I couldn't even get them to confirm that a followup version of the F is set in stone at all.

This has nothing to do with the ISF as I have no clue and totally in the dark but given fuel prices these days....
food for thought:
E90 M3 averages about 14.5 mpg
GTR is much better in the 18-20 mpg range
IS-F is around 20 mpg so hopefully whatever new car Lexus comes out with will keep MPG in consideration

I raise the same question. I just assume they don't know what they're talking about and hope that it will be a 2UR-GSE that has been extensively improved.

Just talked to my good friend that owns the Lexus dealership in town. He says that all the redesigned models (updated body styles) are coming out first with the f-sport package, then then the 2 door version and then a new TRUE F. He doesn't know particulars on engine specs just that general info...

Just when I was starting to really like Lexus, they pull this stunt. 75K for a 0-60 in 3.9s 2 door sounds about right. I imagine the current ISF's with the LED lights will become more sought after when everyone hears no 4 door F for atleast what 5 years? 5 Year estimate due to, 2 years from now RCF, 2-3 Years From now GS-F

It is a factor. Avoiding the gas guzzler tax is a positive. It wasn't THE reason I bought the F, but gas mileage was definitely on this list of pros for this car when compared to the competitors.
If Lexus puts out an ISF that has the power to go 0-60 in 3.9s, can stay out of the gas guzzler tax bracket, can retain Lexus quality, and costs $75K, I think it'll remain competitive in the market. I figure I'll be looking for a nice low-mileage used one a couple of years after they come out.
