Confirmation on Keys that came with your ISF
 

I am buying a used 2009 ISF (Canadian model) and would like some confirmation as to how many and what keys are supposed to come with the F.

After my initial research, the 2008 models comes with 2 standard remote key fobs.

Starting 2009+ models, it comes with 1 smart wallet key card and 1 remote key fob??? In Canada?

Both the standard remote key fob and smart wallet key card have F logs on them ???

Please kindly post your ISF model year, number of keys that came with the F, and your region (US, Canada, Europe, Australia, Japan, etc…)

This may a good thread for future F buyers like me when doing research.

Smart keys are an option in the US I believe.. I haven't seen anyone with one unless they actually purchased it.

I have a 2009 purchased in 2012 (US). It had one smart key with the F logo. I negotiated for my dealer to provide a second smart key fob also with the F logo that they had to order so I'd have a backup. To be clear, when I say smart key, I mean the key that you never have to take out of your pocket to open the doors or start the car. I didn't know there was another type for this car.

I think OP means this by the smart key card. I've always wanted this but $350 + programming fee is not worth it. It's like a credit card and fits in your wallet.

My F came with one key fob. I think it's a good idea to have two incase the battery dies on one.

I bought my 2011 new and it came with 2 key fobs. No smart card. I'm in U.S.

I bought my 2009 F last year used. It came with 2 fobs, one came with the leather case. I'm in the US.

I received the two F key fobs. I've also read that some MY08 Fs cannot have the key programmed.

I bought my 2012 new and it came with 2 key fobs. I'm in Europe (Norway)

Wallet Smart key is an option and included in current models designated as Series 2 cars.

Canada is very different with these kinds of items than the USA. So posting results here will only aid other Canadian buyers. Lexus Canada stipulates packages and options that suit Canada, not the USA.

Back searching to see if this was the same package in 2009, only a Canadian owner from 2009 that bought a vehicle new and was a series 2 car , can speak to this.

You can always buy and add it later, and should not be a deal breaker. Accept the two standard smart keys, and enjoy the vehicle. Believe me the last thing you will be worried about is the kind of keys you get. If your trying to get one thrown in, factor $350.00 and programming costs from the dealer, but I do not believe you are entitled or is the dealer obligated.

But my 11 came with 2 bulky FOB's with the"F" logo in them . No key card. USA

I bought a new smart card key here on CL and tried to have it programmed to my 08 but didn't work. After some research, sewell cleared things up for me and said that the 2008 ISF uses a different part number than the 2009+, but yes, there are smart card keys available for our 08's

Just did some further research on Canadian models.
2008-2010 ISF models, they all only come with 2 remote key fobs.

2011+ ISF models with series 2 package will also come with one smart wallet key card. Not sure 1 or 2 remote key fobs.

This is for CANADIAN models.

But can more Canadian ISF owners confirm?

Yeah after that my speaking reading falls off the map. It was highschool and I was drunk most of it, so I didn't retain much. Cool to see a Norwegian here!




On topic: I recieved 2 fobs but might just go for the wallet card. I had no idea that was an option! Very cool as I'm tired of having a lump in my pants pocket..... ;)

should come with 2 key fobs (bulky ones) unless you upgraded to smart key (which majority of people prob didnt care for)


i would personally like the bulkier keys. looks nicer, and harder to lose.
