i just had a faulty one from the start. the wire was not on the track and my mechanic had to tie it back in there..after a day of the install, the wire came back off. so i gave up and just pull it manually now.....
hows your remote reception? have to get close to press it?

but for those of you wanting to know how much i had to cut out here are some pictures. Also the two metal rods going down are used to support the weight of the setup. The is no where to mount a third screw to hold the back end up so I used those two to push the back end up. It works like a charm.

yea i have a faulty one then. i cannot get reception for dear life.... i have to literally hold the remote in front of the box to get reception... might have to buy a new one. what brand is yours? but i think there is only one company that makes them.
my box is installed under the passenger side engine cover.

Thats where I got mine. I really think they should look into getting a stronger motor to lift the plate. I had to take of the license plate frame because the rotational inertia was too great for the motor to over come. Take some mass, especially from farther away from the point of rotation and bingo it works.

I think you can do it without taking the bumper off for sure. You are going to hate to cut the bottom grille to slide the setup in then screw into the under side of the bumper. I put two screws where the bumper and bottom grille overlap Along with the two stands at the back. The wires will be easy to get down there and are really easy to attach.
