ISS Forged Axel Back vs Borla Cat Back
Was discussing this on another thread but was seeking opinions from u guys. I have a $1000 budget for an exhaust and don't want to go the used route so I have narrowed my choices to the ISS axel back and Borla cat back, ISS axel back is due out in January. What would u guys go with?

you can get the borla catback shipped for under $900. why settle for an axleback when you can have the full catback?

People seem to really like the quality of the ISS and I do like the ISS sound of their DES system, I thought the Borla cat back would give an xtra 40 or so hp but other members say it's only 20. Not sure if the ISS axel back will have the same sound as the DES

well, the ISS may be more than your assumption of $1000, unless you've got inside info. no header/cat back system will yield 40 wrhp.
i have the borla catback and i love it. yes, quality, fitment, etc. is not up there but it's a great bang for the buck and the system is a true dual.
if i was starting over, i might consider the ISS axle back, then hack off the secondary cats.

I had the borla axle back and it was too loud paired with my HKS center section. Plus their tips on the mufflers were long and rubbed with the bumper tips and made some horrendous rattling noises etc. I pulled it off and put on the Tanabe.....much better sound and actually better performance!!!

I here the Borla axel back is no good, the cat back seems to get good reviews, still don't know how the Borla cat back sounds at idle, I want something that has a good rumble at idle

The decision seems obvious to me. Get the full Borla cat back exhaust. I've had it on my car over a year now and absolutely love it. One of the lightest exhausts available and I was able to put down over 400whp on a dynojet. The exhaust is a bit more tricky to install with the slip fit design, but once properly installed it's a trouble free exhaust. Best bang for buck exhaust I can think of for this car without hacking the stock exhaust.
