ISF with IS350 Diff...
... didnt happen over night.... this lastest burst didnt even cost as much as a full set of carbotech track pads... that i daily
I know MRxSLAYx already posted a little about this, but here is a quick side by side reference of the speed/rpm differences you can expect with the different final drive ratios discussed in this thread.
Guy tell me if i'm mistaken, the guys that run headers have to either shift into 5th or redline 4th to finish the 1/4mile with the stock diff, now looking at the above chart, does that mean guys with the 4.09 diff will have to shift to 6th to cross the line? if so might hurt a little bit

Caymandive goes into his 11.91 run in this thread. Yes, he bumped on the rev limiter in 4th at the end of the run. After looking at the numbers, yes an ISF would have to shift into 6th w/4.09 gears...the extra two shift might hurt more than the gearing helps, but I can't speak intelligently to that topic. I am not very experienced or well read on anything technical with drag racing.

Theres no way the time it takes to shift in a ISF two more times will out weigh the gain found from a 4.09 final drive. Old drag cars gain .5 - 1 second from final drive jumps like that with a old school 4 speed. You might loose that time in traction issues though... we are soon to find out.
IMO I really think the new is350 gearing is going to do more harm than good. I believe that the gearing for our cars is actually too short for drag racing, and is really going to hurt on the back end.
dv8ation let me know next time you go to the track, i'll join ya!
This is crazy, everyone here is like a big reunion... Jeff form the supra forums.... Other guys here from the GTA where I just moved form, the VT guy going to napierville (in QC).....
Hahha I love it,
Anyways, don't you guys find that first gear is too short for dragging? Many times high horse power mk4 supra's just launch in 2nd because first is a write off...
I'm surprised you have traction even with ET streets with one tire spins with these trash elsd.
I really REALLY REALLY want to ditch the ELSD for a stock torsen...
Anyone wanna sell me theirs? LoL
