Default When does your car roar? At 3,500 or 4,000 rpms?

Hi IS-F family,

I have a 2010 IS-F, and after taking it get an oil change at 20K, I noticed that it takes a little longer to hear that special roar.

I am trying to figure out if I am being paranoid of not, but I swear the secondary intake passage used to open up around 3,000 to 3,500 rpms. After my oil change (at Lexus dealership) I am noticing my IS-F roar around 4,000 rpms.

Is this something I should take the car in to get checked out, or am I just being paranoid ???

Thanks for your insight,
Nick

near 4000, like 3800 ish. Nothing about an oil change would change that It also may be based on load and speed, I don't know for sure.

You could find a definitive answer fairly quickly by searching, but I'm pretty sure the secondary intake opens at 3600 rpm.

3600 is correct. I haven't heard mine in awhile either. It roars at all rpm's as well!

Thanks for the insight everyone.

Thinking I might have to take the car back in, but wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy first.

Trying to figure out how to reset the ecu now. Wish me luck!

Weird... Mine normally roars when I mash on the pedal? But I think thats normal right? I hope mine roars all the time like you guys when I finally get my headers and exhaust installed.

Just messing bro! Good to know the exact RPM the secondaries open up. Very informative!

Yes, I am definitely interested in getting a joe-z intake at some point. How much would it set me back?

BTW, does installing this void the warranty? I'm guessing so....
