Default Drivers side caliper stuck on rotor?

Gents.. Need some help here..

I replaced my front axel pads but the drivers side brakes seem to be dragging on the rotor making a very loud squeeling noise when im driving. When I parked it in my drive way it was really hit and smoking. It Dosent happen to the passager side. I pushed back the Pistons easily to get the brake pads in there so that wasn't a problem. But I must admit I changed them when my brakes were grinding. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance

It sounds like the piston is seized. Try to exercise it by hand back into the caliper and then bleed the brakes. You may need to replace the seals if the piston is locked in place.

Are you sure it's not dust cover on the backside?

Is it an easy fix? Im not mechanically inclined. Do I have to take it apart and grease the cylinders?

^^^ Please STOP and have the work you did professionally checked & fixed.

You just don't "F" around with BRAKES, when you're "not mechanically inclined"

You'll thank me later..!!

Joe-Z just gave the best advice! However, checking if it is the dust cover is not rocket science. Remove your wheel and it's the half circle piece behind the rotor. You probably used it to place your hand and put to much weight on it. It's a very thin peice that can easily bend in either direction. If it's not that I would just take it in as Joe-Z stated brakes are not something you want to F-up!

I agree with Joez aswell, I'm mechanically inclined and even in my less experienced days I have messed up brakes and had to seek advice or help from another person or bring to a shop. I It's probably a good idea to check the dust shield but when you say your brakes are significantly hotter on that side I'm thinking
1) it's a pad and rotor clearance issue and that a piston could be stuck (as said above)
2) It's a problem with the pad guide pins and the pad could be binding against it or it could have fallen out on one side causing the pad to move out of place (see attached picture). I had this problem on my 4 piston Brembo calipers on my G35 because the aftermarket pads holes where a little smaller than the pins. Alo you might want to check the pads dimensional length, because I also had a problem when the non OEM pads are larger than the caliper area

Maybe explaining the procedure you performed to change the pads would help us troubleshoot any missing steps or possible misteps.

Good luck man.

If your brakes are smoking and making a loud noise - I would not attempt to bed them. As others said - your install is bad or your caliper is busted.
