No, there's no good reason for it. Ppl probably do it cause they think someone can track them down or use it for nefarious purposes, but you're right. Thousands can see it, and nothing happens.
Thanks for the compliment guys! I didn't have enough time or the materials to clay bar or wax so I did as much as I could. As for the blocking out the plate, It's just a habit I guess? You see it so much on social media that it just comes natural.
