His are just plastidipped black. Quick and easy, not as perfect as painted emblems, but looks fine. I'm going to do mine whenever I find the time.
Plasitdip can be tricky to get the right finish, but if you're patient you get good results. I did my badging (not the F's), L's, grille surround and rear diffuser (it is CF, but damaged).
That's from a wash this morning. But I clayed, compounded, did a two stage polish, sealed and wax back in May and that's how it looks now. A guy in a black challenger pulled up next to me at the light yesterday asking if my F was a 2016 lol. I said no it's a 2008. He was surprised as he said it looks brand new.
