Default Tire Question

Will all 285/30/19s fit on the stock rims in the rear. I need a 100% answer before I order tires. I would have gone with the Conti dw in that size but they no longer make them.

Also if you have any suggestions it would really help.
Thanks guys

I had Conti DWS in that size on my stock rims with no issues at all. The DWS's are an excellent all season tire and I loved them. I have a set with less than 1000 miles on them if you are interested.

Im in VA so we don't get much snow here so there is no need for a all season tire, but thanks for the offer. I think I might just go with the RE-11 in 275 30 19. Unless you all know of any negative things about these tires.

It's all about trying to match the OD of the OEM tire set up with the new tires your purchasing

275 would work as some run that size but they are not as close to original diameter as 285's but will work. Can't say for your tire selection as I do not have first hand experience with them. Some have said they liked them but I find helpful going on to Tire Rack or a similar site that lists owners reviews and see what they have to say. Noise and tire wear are some of the biggest complaints with some brands and/or certain models.

RE-11, pretty much as close to an R compound street tire as you are going to find... awesome performance...

they wear fast, but not terrible...

Thanks for the help guys but what OD should I try to shoot for and what will happen if I am alittle bit off of the OD. I want to got with 285s. But I do t have time to send the tires back because I am risking a blow out already. I have been looking all over the place but I have no idea what to order. Stock sizes are also too small for my driving style they spin way to much and in the rain I don't feel like the car is planted very well.

Thanks guys

I just got off the phone with Continental, and they still make the 285/30/19 DW tire, but they are on and have been on national back order for some time. The Bridgestone S-04 should be fine. I'm assuming your changing the fronts also. In a HI-PO tire, matching front to rear is especially important due to the rubber compounds used in them and the fact that, even though it may be subtle, the handling does change over time due to wear.

As I indicated in my Continental DW thread, my set has developed a sing which I am unhappy with. I am working with Continental Tire now to resolve the issue. If I can't, my next set of tires could very well be the S-04s.

Hey i just wanted to thank you all for you help. so my set up is 245/35 and 285/30 SO-4 Pole Positions. The tires were mounted today and fit perfectly. There have been no rubbing issues so far. The cars seems to feel more stable and there is for sure better traction. The tires are not broken in yet so i will let you know on the performance once i have about 500-1000 miles again.
