Default Oil Change... So simple I know.

I've done 3 now on the ISF, but for some reason today was difficult lol.

I replaced the oil filter seal as usual, put oil on it all around, seated it all around. I screwed it on filled the car with oil and started it. For some reason the oil filter housing was getting wet with oil at the seam. I would wipe it, wait about 30 seconds and it would barely seep oil, not enough drop/drip but you could see the seam getting wet. WTF? I couldn't remember if I paid this close attention to it before, so I hesitantly backed the housing back off, leaked some oil, put a new seal on it again and re-tightened.

It seems that it stopped getting "wet" at the seam, but it bugged me that it did this. I noticed as it tightened on the last few threads I could feel the seal "catching" a bit, rotating as it snugged down.

I don't know nothing to worry about I'm sure, its only oil. I'm just **** about this car lol.

As an old guy, a real old guy, I still change my oil like they did in the old days. Rather than rubbing oil on the rubber gasket of the filter, I use Vaseline. IMHO, it gives a better seal than a layer of motor oil.

I would go with what Lou says. He always seems to have really good advice and information.

Could have just been a bad O-ring gasket....

I always make sure not to over stretch it too much... OR get it snagged on the threads when installing it..

Other than that, sounds like you did everything right... !!

Could be a nick in the O-ring, could possibly it is seated in the wrong gap on the housing, Just keep an eye on it.

Funny. I just remove the old one, install the new one after spraying everything with brake cleaner and call it a day. Never an issue with oil leaks on the F or the 350 and did them both the same way.
