Congrats man, if anything you'll get a few days to test it out. I've heard of bad and good experiences with CARMAX just like any other dealerships. I almost bought an 08 out of Canada through CARMAX but I was scared of the white leather. My first impressions of Carmax was that they only sold old rental cars, which i would never do, but I think their high end cars are auction cars.

Post pics when you get it !

hey OP, i actually just bought my 09 is-f through carmax about 2 weeks ago. when i first saw the car, it had curb rash, some scratches, wheels were put on backward, and the rear rotor wasn't wearing evenly w/ the pad. well, i got an awesome sales associate who had all the wheels refinished for me, changed out the rear rotor and pad, and had the car buffed so i can't see the scratches anymore. the car drove straight (huge concern of mine!), the interior was clean, no sign of coolant leaking, tires still in good condition, etc. etc.

all in all, great experience. congrats and enjoy the car!!

Congrats, Ascari,

I've followed your search here and on SF and I am glad you finally got the car you wanted. I thought you had given up on getting an F when you started talking about Panameras and BMW 550s, but I am glad you got the car you always wanted from the first day you drove one. Happy Trails...

My wife bought a MBZ 500E from them. I wish she had never bought it.

I am guessing the car will be like any other from any other dealer. There are those that are good and those that are bad. We are all taking a chance when buying used. Hopefully given that this car has a warranty, repairs won't be an issue.

Ken, thanks for the kind words. If I could comfortably get the panamera, I probably still would, but I think that car is still about five years away. The 535 was nice, but as nice of a highway car as it is, I want a growl of a v8 and a more exciting look. Maybe the m5 will be a challenge to the panamera.

Asbofnright nowni am hoping the car isnin good shape so that I can go forward with signing the papers.
