The new 265/35 PSS are now in stock so thought I would upgrade my current 255/35 since it took the set a month to say their goodbyes.. So my question is, is it ok to run those sizes?? or should I stick with 255/35? Regards.

No, you will exacerbate the understeer if you leave the 225/40/19s up front and go larger in the rear.

If you upsize the fronts, you should upsize the rears too, and of course visa-versa. I'm running 245/35/19 in front and 285/30/19 in back on stock wheels. IMHO, a sweet setup.

Have you ever had the tire installer say no to anything other than oem size for the stock rim? Will the tire seal well at the bead? What about accelerated wear on steering and suspension? Sorry for all the questions, I am new to the performance car world.

^^^^Tire installers should indeed say to unsafe wheel/tire combos. But the 245//285 combo works well on our cars with stock wheels. I've been running my Continental DW since July of last year with absolutely no issues.

and leaving the rears stock size, to try and counter some of the understeer. Are people worried that the added grip in front with bigger tires will cause dangerous oversteer if the rears are not larger than stock?

Yes, they should, but no they don't. Look how many lowriders put skinny tires on extra wide rims and no one stopped them. Look at all the VIP cars doing the same thing and no one stops them from running a narrow tire on a wide rim. All the name of fashion, flying in the face of safety. At least in countries where they take road safety seriously, you could never do this, but they also have higher speed limits, or unlimited stretches of road where this kind of choice could end up killing a lot of motorists.

Luckily, the recommendations in Lou's thread aren't anywhere near extreme. Sure a 275 isn't the first recommendation for a 9" rim, but it's not even in the same league as someone putting a 245 on a 10" rim.
