Right, but anyone with a decent lawyer will be able to get paid for confiscating the car. The government can't seize something you legally own and destroy it without compensation.

I'd bet money Joe is right - this is one of the pre-production Fs used for Lexus events like the Lexus Driving Academy. I seriously doubt this was as a result of street racing.

I'm still very glad I left California four years ago.

And no, it doesn't sicken me to see this. Odds are pretty good every one of our cars will be unserviceable one day and be crushed/recycled. Sad to see one with so many pieces someone could use, but such is life.

You are so wrong. They can and they do. There are many jurisdictions that are out of control. If you want to hear horror stories, read up on: civil asset forfeiture.

Find some lawyer buddy, cook up some hamburgers and hot dogs, have a beer or two and ask him/her about "civil asset forfeiture". You'll be amazed, scared, and angry.

Edit to add: People are having money and property seized... and not even charged with a crime. Seriously, people need to learn about this issue. Ask yourself, is this America?!?

Well I hope I'm right....

If it was a "Street Racing IS-F" that got caught, then so be it... I'm not surprised if the wrecking yard saw some value with the wheels & brakes, for parts salvage resale..

But usually they LOVE taking all the lights & interior as well..

From the headlights, I see this to be a 2008 to 2010 IS-F... Not a 2011 as the video states..

Talking Crushing Cars

I find it pretty hard to believe that California would crush a car for street racing.

The average speed on some stretches of I 10 is 90 MPH. That may not be street racing, but believe me it is road racing. I was doing 90 MPH one day and a CHP car pulls up behind me and I know I'm dead, so I move over a lane. The cop blasts by me at 100 MPH, I guess because he could. Past them several times going 90. They don't care.

If they destroy your car and the bank has the title, who really looses. These guys here in California would never make another payment.

If they crush your car for street racing, why not for any number of crimes. Never heard of it.

Maybe if the guy driving was an illegal immigrant they could crush the car. I wonder what California would be like then.

No kidding. Not trying to stir up a political debate but for a state that claims it's in such debt that it has to start auctioning off it's national monuments/parks etc you would think they would take it to auction and sell it. That just shows poor leadership.
