Went to Lexus dealer this morning and picked up a 2012 IS brochure. I scanned the Chassis portion. Guess what it calls out as the rear tire size for the F

That one typo has had a sad "domino effect"...

I'd be inclined to pitch a fuss about it if I were buying one - "HEY WTF?!?!?! The spec sheet says 265 and the car has 255!"

Well at least the Port is printing the window sticker correctly and installing the matching size tires....

10mm..........is that a make or break deal???? Don't think so, if anything if the smaller tire size is more readily available and less.....what's 10mm???

Who said make or break? I said I'd pitch a fuss about the discrepancy. I didn't say I'd walk from the deal.

sorry to revive an old thread here but basically from what im reading the extra half inch in wheel size and the offset mean the wheel looks the same as car as being flush? Can the new owners confirm this perhaps people that upgraded from a previous model? This thread had some speculation and such before the cars were actually being driven by members. Thanks!

So I plugged the follwing into a offset calculator:

2012 19x8.5 F 45MM
2012 19.9.5 R 51MM
2008 19.8 F 45MM
2008 19.9 R 55MM

It spits out these results in switch from the 2008 wheels to the 2012 wheels:

FRONT: Inner Clearence 6mm less and outter wheel is extended 6mm
REAR: Inner clearence loss of 2mm and outter wheel is extended 10mm

So yes the 2012 push further out but we are talking about a 1/4 inch up front and about 4/10 of an inch in the rear. Super lame lexus and their conservative offsets...I guess its better than nothing.

The point of the wider rims is for better mechanical performance, not better visual performance.
