Default Does the F automatically switch lights off?

I think I left my lights on... do the lights go off automatically if you don't switch them off (after turning off the car and locking the doors)? I guess I won't find out until after work

Depends on whether you had the headlight switch set to "Auto" or on manual. The Auto setting is just what it says automatic. It turns the headlights on or off as needed. The headlights will stay on after the car is shut off. If you double click the key fob, the lights will turn off sooner than they will shut off automatically.

If you manually turned on the lights, they will stay on until the battery dies

And if the battery is dead, how would I get into the car, if someone helps me jump start it?

pull the key out of your fob then you can get in and open the hood and jump start if necessary

Well I locked the car this morning by just pressing the button on the door handle instead of using the key fob... not sure if that's the same thing

Instead of taking the chance of your car batterie dying, why don't you just go out there and check? Lol

I believe it works like this. If you were driving with lights on in non-automatic mode, then turned off the car and exited. You are OK, they go off with a timer. If you were driving, turned the car off, THEN turned the lights on manually, then exited the car and locked, they will still be on.

Senario 1, car things you accidentally left lights on and turns them off.
Senario 2 car thinks you intentionally turned the lights on after driving and will leave them on.

You are probably OK.

^^
If Manually turned ON...

As long as you Turn the car off, then open your door and exit you are fine..

If you have the door open, then turn the car off.. I think they remain ON..

But anyone who is bored right now can run outside and test it.. I can't at the moment..

Im also guessing the OP is no where near his car right now to check

I wish it was that simple, Steve... I work 1.5 hours away from home, and park my car at a train station

EDIT: On a side note, I will update everybody on my light situation when I get to my car... hope the lights went off

So I turned off the lights! I was just being paranoid. I tested out double-clicking the key fob, and the lights did go off - this is a great feature. The next test will be to lock without the key using the handle, and I'll see if the lights go off. Thanks again guys

I never use Auto for headlights because I like to turn them on during the day (including the fogs) cus I'm just a freak like that.
