Default Xm Radio Kits

Ive searched up and down the internet. All the information is find is a few years old. I want to buy a xm radio kit for my f. I refuse to pay 800 dollars to the dealer. I researched two kits
86100-0W220 Part Description: Lexus IS Satellite Radio, Fit Kit, XM
86100-0W220 Part Description: Lexus IS Satellite Radio, XM, Reciever Kit

I ordered these from toyota world and I got an email saying they were both discontinued.
I also found this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyot...fAudioQ5fVideo

Will this work? I also want to use my shark fin as the antenna. Ive searched here and all the results are from 2008 or just vague answers saying search google. Any help is appreciated.

Go to Sewell Lexus and register as a Club Lexus member to receive your discount. They are a vendor on here and have excellent customer service.

Assuming your car is pre-wired (which they all are) the kit is listed on their site for $383.25 (with discount) is all you need and it's plug and play. The kit is the same from 08-11.

I'm in the same situation... any information anyone has that will allow me to hook it up through the shark fin antennae would be awesome.

I've looked at the vais kits and know that they have a connector for the shark fin but has anyone installed it?

Does you car have the " SAT " button? You need that to have the Lexus kit to work.

Also if you want to go cheaper. You can get a Vais adaptor to add an AUX imput to your system. That way you can go with Sirius instead of XM. Or an iPod.

You can get XM radio with one of our kits. Model number SL2xD2. It also requires XM tuner - also available through us. If you have a shark fin antenna on the roof you can get an adapter from us to utilize it to get Sat reception vs installing additional antenna, model number SFA12F. Interface with the tuner will cost you $301.99 and shark fin antenna adapter will cost you another $59.99.

SL2xD2 will work just like the factory XM radio kit, no difference whatsoever.

Cool

I have been looking into this as well and this is what I have come up with.

Best Buy carries the Isimple Gateway for 180$ including installation.
http://isimplesolutions.com/iphone-i...n-GateWay.aspx

You will need that plus the universal sat radio receiver from Sirius.
http://www.amazon.com/SIRIUS-SCC1-Co.../dp/B000Q9UFKU

This one is from Amazon for 50$

then there is the shark fin antenna adapter you can purchase for 70$ if you find that using the shark fin is worth it.
http://www.tss-radio.com/products/le...ntenna-adapter

so to recap:
1. Isimple gateway (I found at Best Buy) which bridges the gap between your factory stereo and the universal sat radio tuner allowing full control of the sat radio through your factory system.

2. the Sirius universal sat tuner.

3. shark fin adapter

so the total cost is:

180$
50$
70$

300$ not including tax and any other install fees for the other items like the sat tuner and the shark fin adapter. When I inquired the install at Best Buy only included the Isimple gateway.

I have yet to pull the trigger on this setup but it is the one that I am considering.

Before you buy that make sure lexus still uses sirus tuners. I heard they only use xm now.

it is a universal tuner. Meaning that it can be used in any application. This setup has nothing to do with Lexus or the parts they sell.

What you are referring to is the XM unit that is made for Lexus and is installed in the trunk. I don't want that 650$ overpriced tuner.

the Isimple gateway system has a special wiring harness that allows you to use the universal satellite tuner. I did provide links so you could see for yourself.

Tuner is sold separately, so you do need all three parts. SL2xD2, XHD2H1 and SFA12F. Thanks!

Just get the Sirius app and listen through your phone, that's what I do! The app has everything including Howard.
