search, this was just covered in a thread I started. If you want a warranty get the Lexus Plat zero deductible warranty from Jerry Johnson in Kansas, best deal you can find.

I know nothing about wheel warranties.

I still have the factory wheels, no damage so far and the roads are messed up in the city.

You can usually have your wheels repaired much cheaper than what a wheel warranty would cost you. Most of the wheel repair places do a great job and they usually come with a lifetime repair warranty!

You can buy the tire and rim warranty from any dealerships, does not have to be from lexus. But I bought mine when I got my car and definitely well worth it; 2 blow outs, 4 tires with nails on the inner walls, all replaced under the warranty i paid for $850. Each tire at the dealer runs about a lil over $300 and rims are I think $1500 or more, not too sure but it should be around that range.

Please be fully aware of what is not covered so you won't be disappointed. I advise taking the paperwork home and reading all the conditions rather than allowing the salesman to summarize it for you.

I guess I should add too, if getting an extended warranty from Toyota would be he same and most prob cheaper?unsure?

When I bought my car, Lipton Toyota offered an extended warranty but I was sure if I should go with Lexus or Toyota .

Juanca,
It seems like you are a day too late to ponder this. Lexus warranty can only be purchased while you are still inside the original manufactures warranty.

There are other Third party warranties that you can purchase though. www.warrantydirect.com is one that gets decent reviews.

The warranty is the same from Toyota or Lexus. Pricing varies by dealer and can be discounted. If you search this has been covered a lot here already.

correct, if you want an extended lexus warranty, you have to buy it prior to the factory warranty running out.

I know a guy who sells warranties from NAC (top tier provider)
He only sells the pinnacle class (which is the top of the line, only exclusionary)
He deals with pretty much only high-line autos, shoot him an email, his name is Bruce and you can tell him Ricky gave you his info
Send him your vin # and car info - brucem105@comcast.net

Other warranties I would use would be Chubb, Zurich, First Auto, or Fidelity, I'm not sure about any of the others
I know that Bruce can get discounts from NAC if there is a group buy, typically he's done 5% for 5 members, 10% if 10 members get in, maybe it could be something worth considering if anyone else wants an extended warranty

He quoted me prices for my M6 (at 48k miles) and they came out to be roughly 110$/mo (from 3 year 36k mi, to 4 yr 5 yr and 6 yr warranties). The prices were higher than BMW NA's extended warranty, but obviously there is a lot less covered by the BMW NA extended warranty.

I think extended warranties are a tricky tricky topic. For many non performance cars, like Hondas and Toyotas, extended warranties are not a fiscally wise decision. The payment rate is less than 50% on those kinds of cars, however for performance cars (AMGS and Ms), it's a no brainer to get an extended warranty, payment rates are higher than 110% on those types of vehicles! However, if you can afford an AMG, chances are you probably understand how time and money are linked.... probably better off just buying AAPL and cashing out whenever your car has mechanical issues.

FWIW for #1 and the LS, GEICO is providing extended warranty for both whenever factory warranty runs out, and I think the cost is somewhere near 15$/mo, almost 1/10th of the price for TWO cars..... but I have no idea how well the GEICO warranty is and what kind of labor rates they pay etc etc

I bought mine from him last month and what they do check is the last in service date via service record. If that was a while ago you may be required to show current mileage.

As others have stated the warranty through Lexus can only be purchased before the car reaches 50K.

Mine is 7 years or 100K and it was $2040 bumper to bumper with $0 deductible(Platinum). Well worth the price considering what a navigation head unit replacement or worse would cost.
