After doing some searching. I found a thread on the ClubLexus GS section. Which turned out to be the best deal I could find.

I got a 6 year 70,000 miles Lexus Factory Extra Care platinum Zero Deductible Warranty for little over 800 dollars. This is the Toyota/Lexus warranty. Not a third party one.

The dealer I purchased my car from wanted 1200 dollars.

If your looking to purchase one. I highly recommand Jerry at Midwest Toyota.

Just send him your location of purchase, VIN and current miles to get a quote.

Default Warranty

It took a day to get a quote back. And about a week to get the paperwork from Jerry after I paid.

My paperwork from Lexus arrived about 10 days later.

When does it start, in service date? Deductible? Exclusionary or Inclusionary policy?

Default Warranty

I think the cost depends on the type of car and mileage. I have a 2007 RX350with 33.000 miles.

If you want go to the Lexus web page. And see what the posted price is for your model. The price for the RX was 1200 dollars. So I saved almost 400 dollars.

The warranty is extended. So mine is now March of 2013 or 70.000 miles. Whichever comes first.

Also you can buy a plan with a deductable or without.

I think that is a good discount...40+% off retail...I keep debating as to whether I want to do this or not...it would help in resale to another private party if I wanted to sell the car....if I decide to mod the car later I am throwing money away. But if I keep it stock, should the tranny decide to huff at some point, you are covered. These cars are not old enough yet to know what kind of history is going to play out...is the 8 speed overly complex, too many parts to fail and we start losing trannys at 70K or 80K miles? No one knows. If this was a M3 or C63...no brainer.

Bought the 6 year 100k for $1590.

Seems highly worth it. Guess we will see what sort of service I get. i'll be turning 50k in a week and I want some stuff fixed.

LOL

Glad to hear you worked with Jerry. He must be selling a ton of these at his pricing.

I'm planning on keeping the car for awhile but also find that the extended warranty really helps with resale value and finding a buyer (private party sale). So either way I'm covered.

Default Warranty options (car and wheels)

Hey guys need some help with warranty options, my Basic warranty is up very soon. What are my options in terms of extending the warranty or getting a different kind of warranty. If anyone can please explain to me what it covers and how it works. Another thing is the wheel warranty, since i am a second owner i cannot buy the wheel warranty from lexus (this is what i heard from lexus of queens in ny) and from what i heard the wheels can get easily damaged and each wheel to replace will cost over $2,000
The previous owner did buy the wheel warranty, but is in the process of finding out if its transferable, and is going to offer me to buy it.
