Default OEM caliper finish flaking?

I have two areas on my drivers side front caliper that started flaking, has anyone else had this issue? Any ideas on what could cause it and how can I stop it from spreading? This is the OEM black finish and the caliper has not been repainted.

Or

If someone did a brake job, its very easy to hit the painted area with the hammer or punch to knock the pin out..

Lets say it didn't flake off the day it got hit, it will & can easily down the road..

It can also be from any other impacting object... Don't ask me how I know...

I'm still on the factory pads I've never had a brake job, and the flaking is on the face near the lexus logo and on another small area on the side. From the way it looks I can't see how an impact could have created such an irregular pattern and I'm very careful about chemicals I used because of my rims. Here is a photo:

Looks like someone hit it with the wheel when putting the wheel on. The paint is very durable but doesn't like to be hit by anything.

If the paint were going to flake, mine would be dying right now. The Lexus is still gold now from getting very hot at the track. Silver disappeared a long time ago.
