My quest for 11's (All Motor)
I am absolutely determined to get into the 11's this year with my current setup so I thought I'd create a thread/journal that I'll be updating.
I went again last night to Maryland International Raceway. It was cooler than my previous trip which had a DA of -10ft. The DA last night was -835.
Unfortunately I arrived with 3 ticks above a quarter of a tank of fuel so I believe that and the fact that the track closed early due to an accident caused me not to get in the 11's last night. A few more runs and I'm sure I could have done it with even cooler temps and less fuel in the tank.
The combination of the JoeZ exhaust and the SIKKY headers has been amazing and I absolutely love it! Next year I plan on working on the intake side of things (manifold/throttle body) and possible an all new exhaust configuration from the headers back.
The Density altitude was -835ft
80ft elevation
48F
30.19 inches Hg
40 dew point
INFO:
-PTS JoeZ exhaust
-SIKKY headers
-IS350 Rear wheels with MT Street ET's.

As for weight reduction I did my best by removing the spare/jack and any other item laying around inside the car, but unfortunately had a bit more fuel in the tank than I wanted.

Good luck buddy, keep us updated, I'm sure you'll be in the 11's before you know it
Where did you purchase the SIKKY Headers? How are they combined with the Joe Z?

go on a diet, drive in a speedo, less fuel...maybe a lithium battery, CF hood or something, less bulky intake...you could take 100 lbs out pretty easy without getting too crazy expensive. You're REALLY close, a few lbs should get you there.

Those are great runs, and I think you have the right idea to work on the intake side now. With the LT's and exhaust providing free flow at the rear, take a look at porting/polishing the TB, and intake.
If I thought I could get away with LT's in Cali, I would install them and do the same.

Intake isnt going to do much. And in actuality, can negatively effect the car through heat soak. And rear seats only weigh about 5-7lbs. Hes got some good weight reduction with the battery(not sure if its still in the car) and gutted trunk. With a little less fuel and a removed air filter, 11s are coming for sure.

It's those rear wheels.. We've got the same tires, but mine comes in at 43 pounds each and his is over 50 pounds each. I'd imagine if you got 17" RE-30s and stuck with 245 MTs, you'll be down to 41 pounds per wheel! That would be sooo perfect. I don't think we need anything bigger than 245 - we can't spin them anyways.

How about aerodynamics? Is it too short (1/4) to think about aero? I remember reading motor trend back awhile ago where they used duct tape to cover up some front ducts for faster time.
How about stripping the car, temporarily? The front passenger seat has got to weigh around 100 lbs? How much do you weight?....lol. Once you have exhausted the engine, it's time to think about weight.

According to the calculations with the 245/40/18's I should have plenty of rpms left in 4th to carrying me across the line without shifting into 5th. 6744 rpm at 120mph vs Stock tires 6664 rpm at 120mph.
Thanks! You can purchase SIKKY headers online at SIKKY.com, but since they are local to me I purchased them direct.
